Mailbox App Settings
Learn how to manage settings, adjust displays, and update your password directly from the My Mailbox app.
1. Overview
Users logged in to the My Mailbox app have access to a dedicated Settings panel. From here, you can manage your personal display options and update your password without requiring access to the main Admin Dashboard.
2. Why This Matters
Allowing individual mailbox users to manage their own settings and passwords increases efficiency, promotes security best practices, and reduces the administrative burden on the account owner.
3. How to Use It
Accessing Settings:
- Log in to your mailbox using the My Mailbox page.
- Click Settings in the left navigation menu.
Settings Options Available:
1. Update Display Name / Sender Name
Change how your name appears to external recipients when you send an email. Enter your name in the input field and click Save.
2. Reset Mailbox Password
To update your mailbox security key:
- Navigate to the Reset Password tab inside the settings panel.
- Enter your Current Password.
- Type in your New Password and confirm it.
- Click Update Password. The new password will take effect immediately.
4. Common Mistakes
- Updating the admin password instead of the mailbox password: Changing your password here only affects this specific mailbox. It does not change your primary admin account login.
- Choosing a weak password: When resetting your mailbox password, ensure it is robust and hard to guess.
5. Tips
Security Note: If you change your password, any other active sessions logged into this mailbox (such as on an employee's browser) will be logged out automatically.
