Sending Outbound Emails
A complete guide on how to draft and send new email messages under your custom domain brand.
1. Overview
Sending outbound emails is one of the core features of MelMe. Using the My Mailbox app, you can draft clean, professional emails and send them to any recipient on the internet using your custom domain addresses.
2. Why This Matters
To maintain a professional business identity, you need to communicate under your custom domain brand (e.g. alex@mycompany.com). Sending emails directly from MelMe ensures that recipients see your official brand identity rather than a personal Gmail or Outlook address.
3. How to Use It
Steps to Send an Email:
- Log in to your secure My Mailbox panel.
- Click the Compose button.
- Choose Your Sender Address: Use the From dropdown menu to select which active alias you want to send from. You can only choose aliases linked to this mailbox.
- Specify Recipients: Type the destination address in the To field.
- Add Subject & Body: Enter a descriptive subject line and draft your message in the email composer.
- Click Send. The message is immediately processed and delivered to the recipient.
4. Common Mistakes
- Sending from an Unverified Domain Alias: Ensure your domain is fully verified in the Admin Panel before trying to send emails. If the domain is pending, outbound emails will fail.
- Forgetting to check the "From" field: If you manage multiple aliases in one mailbox, failing to verify the From selection can result in sending department-related emails from the wrong address (e.g. sending sales responses from
support@).
5. Tips
Clean Formatting: MelMe supports rich text composition, allowing you to add bold text, italics, bullet lists, and standard formatting to make your emails look structured and highly professional.
