Mailbox Settings
Learn how to configure your mailbox sender names, labels, and descriptions from the admin panel.
1. Overview
Each mailbox can be customized to match your branding and team structure. You can edit these details at any time from your Admin Panel.
2. Why This Matters
Accurate mailbox settings are key to presenting a professional brand to your recipients and keeping your admin dashboard organized as you add more mailboxes.
3. How to Use It
Configuration Options:
Go to the Mailboxes tab in the Admin Panel and click Edit on a mailbox to customize:
1. Sender Name
This is the name display that recipients will see in their inboxes (e.g. "Support Desk" or "Alex from MelMe"). Keep this clean and recognizable.
2. Mailbox Description
An internal note explaining the purpose of the mailbox or who has access (e.g., "Main workspace for the customer service team").
3. Mailbox Tags
You can add tags (like Sales, Internal, Urgent) to organize and filter your mailboxes within the Admin Dashboard.
4. Active Toggle
If you want to temporarily suspend a mailbox's activity (blocking all logins and routing) without permanently deleting it, you can toggle its Active switch off.
4. Common Mistakes
- Leaving the Sender Name blank or generic: If you don't configure a clear Sender Name, your outgoing emails might show up in recipients' inboxes as sent by an anonymous sender, which reduces open rates.
- Using confusing slugs: Keep your slugs descriptive (e.g.,
sales-inboxinstead ofbox123) so you and your team can easily remember how to log in.
5. Tips
Branding Recommendation: Set your Sender Name as [Your Name] | [Company Name] (e.g., David | MelMe Support) for a warm, professional, yet personal touch.
