Sending Attachments

Learn how to upload and send file attachments securely within your outgoing emails in MelMe.

1. Overview

When composing emails, you can attach files—such as images, PDF invoices, word documents, or slides—to share with your recipients.

2. Why This Matters

Sharing quotes, invoices, agreements, and spreadsheets is a vital part of running any business. MelMe makes attaching these files secure and simple, ensuring they load quickly for your recipients.

3. How to Use It

Step-by-Step Attachment Guide:

  1. Open My Mailbox and click Compose to draft a new email.
  2. At the bottom of the composer, click the Attachment (paperclip) icon.
  3. Select the file(s) from your computer or mobile device.
  4. Upload Status: You will see a progress bar indicating that the file is being securely uploaded. Once uploaded, a list of attached files will display at the bottom of the composer.
  5. Click Send to deliver your message along with the attached files.

4. Common Mistakes

  • Exceeding standard email size limits: Most email servers (like Gmail or Exchange) will block incoming emails that are larger than 10MB. To guarantee successful delivery, keep your total attachment size below 10MB per email.
  • Attaching dangerous file types: MelMe blocks suspicious executable file formats (like .exe, .bat, or .zip files containing code) for security reasons. Stick to standard formats like PDFs, JPGs, PNGs, and Microsoft Office documents.

5. Tips

Sending Large Files: If you need to send files larger than 10MB (like high-res videos or huge project folders), upload them to a cloud sharing service (like Google Drive or Dropbox) and paste the link in your email body instead!
