Session Management
Learn how MelMe tracks your active login sessions and how to manage connected devices.
1. Overview
Whenever you log in to MelMe or a mailbox, a secure Session is created. MelMe actively monitors these sessions to keep track of which devices, IP addresses, and browsers are currently logged in to your account.
2. Why This Matters
Device session tracking gives you full visibility over active connections:
- Unauthorized Access Detection: If you notice a login session from an unrecognized device or country, you can flag it immediately.
- Instant Revocation: You can log out stale or compromised devices instantly, cutting off access in real-time.
3. How to Use It
Checking Active Sessions:
- Log in to your Admin Dashboard.
- Go to the Profile or Security page.
- Locate the Active Sessions list.
- You will see a list of all logged-in browsers, showing:
- Device Type & Browser: (e.g. "Chrome on macOS").
- IP Address & Location: The digital address of the device.
- Last Active Time: When the device last loaded a page.
- Logging Out a Session: Click Revoke or Log Out next to any session in the list to immediately kick that device off your account.
4. Common Mistakes
- Leaving sessions open on public devices: If you log in to your account on a shared office computer or library device, always click Sign Out before leaving. Relying on auto-logout timers exposes your account to risk.
- Confusing your own mobile browser session: If you log in from your phone, it might list a different IP address (depending on your mobile carrier). Do not panic and revoke it unless the location is highly suspicious!
5. Tips
Automatic Expiration: For your safety, idle login sessions will automatically expire and require a re-login after a designated period of inactivity.
